In the 1960s, young musicians from the middle and upper classes created small bands with rock’n’roll influences, naming them Les Copains, Les Aces de Pétion-Ville, Les Jets, Les Manfoubens, Les Vampires, Les Shelberts, Les Corvington… These groups performed at house parties, in movie theaters, school dances, and on radio shows, especially on Radio Haïti.
