Toward a National Strategy to Combat GBV in Haiti

Twenty years after the publication of the July 6, 2005 decree modifying the legal framework on sexual assault, an intergenerational dialogue was launched on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Karibe Hotel, with the goal of developing a national awareness campaign against GBV, early pregnancies, and HIV. This initiative brought together United Nations agencies, government institutions, and youth and civil society organizations.

The initiative was led by the National Grouping of Haitian Students (RENAEH), in collaboration with UNAIDS and UNESCO, and supported by various state institutions, including the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), the Ministry for the Status of Women and Women's Rights (MCFDF), and the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC).
