Originally scheduled for May 9, as tradition dictates, the celebration could not be held on that date due to the security situation in Haiti. It was finally on July 8 that the EU Delegation invited its partners and guests to a reception at the Montana Hotel. The celebration coincided with the departure of the head of mission, Ambassador Stefano Gatto. Diplomats, government representatives, civil society members, and political figures attended the event.
