MEF Reinstates CNSI to Overhaul Haiti’s Data Infrastructure

At the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the National Council for Statistics and Informatics (CNSI) held its first official meeting since its reactivation on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. This inaugural session was a particularly significant moment for this public body, which aims to structure Haiti’s national data system.

With palpable enthusiasm, Guy Serge Pompilus, coordinator of the technical secretariat of the Directorate General of the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI), welcomed the event: “Today is a great day,” he declared with joy. According to Minister Alfred Fils Métellus, the mission of this structure will be to “work with all public and private organizations to organize the statistical system and enable the IHSI to have reliable and coherent data.”
