The Dominican Republic began on Friday to extend the border wall separating it from its Haitian neighbor, a construction project initiated in 2021 by the government of Luis Abinader to combat the illegal arrival of migrants.
The new section of the wall, 13 kilometers long, is being built in the province of Dajabón (north).
