La Chapelle, a commune in the Artibonite department within the Saint-Marc district, was invaded on the evening of Sunday, June 22, 2025, by the terrorist coalition Viv Ansanm.
"Around 7 p.m., La Chapelle experienced a wave of general panic due to bursts of automatic gunfire, sounds never heard before. Distressed, the people of La Chapelle ran in all directions without truly knowing where to find safe refuge," shared a local journalist reached by phone.
