François Mitterrand once wrote that posterity most often disregards transitional leaders. I would add: especially when they are transitioning toward nowhere. The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) lacks the vital energy to contradict this astute observation by the former French President. Everything suggests that the CPT is on an extended mandate to fulfill the obligations of the April 3, 2024 Agreement. Everything that is done—when it is done—moves at a pace far removed from the one dictated by that agreement.
