Préval Massacre Victims’ Families Call for Justice and Accountability

Gathered under the banner of the Kolektif Paran Viktim Masak Preval (KPVMP), the relatives of those killed during the tragedy of Tuesday, May 20, 2025, issued a press release to the newspaper on Friday, May 30, demanding “that justice be served” by the relevant authorities “against the perpetrators, co-perpetrators, and accomplices of the massacre.”

Expressing words of thanks “to the various sectors that showed solidarity with the Préval community during the harsh ordeal inflicted by the self-defense coalition” and extending sympathies to “all those in Haiti and abroad who lost someone, whether close or distant,” the committee in charge of the KPVMP published a provisional list of 31 identifiable and identified victims, noting that “bodies devoured by dogs or thrown into the Artibonite River are not included.”
