Fermathe Hospital Treats Over 14 Wounded Following Unrest in Kenscoff

Kenscoff experienced a day of tension following an armed attack that resulted in deaths, injuries, and damage on Monday, January 27, 2025. The Fermathe Hospital, a mixed healthcare facility located just a few kilometers from the crime scene, received an unusually high number of patients affected by gang violence.

Since the closure of hospitals in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, it has become common to encounter cases of gunshot wounds or trauma at Fermathe Hospital.
However, Dr. Lesly Archer, director of Fermathe Hospital, admitted in an exclusive interview with Le Nouvelliste that it is unusual to receive about 14 cases of gunshot and stab wounds in less than 24 hours.
