Government Pledges Security Measures After the Burning of Bernard Mevs Hospital

A few hours after the fire at Bernard Mevs Hospital, the government led by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé issued a statement on the evening of Tuesday, December 17, 2024, to condemn the attack and promise security measures.

"The Government of the Republic of Haiti condemns in the strongest possible terms the heinous armed attack perpetrated against Bernard Mevs Hospital, located in Village Solidarité (Airport Road). This act of violence, targeting an institution vital to the population, constitutes a serious violation of human dignity, national security, and the fundamental right to health," the Prime Minister's Office wrote in a statement.
