The boat named Cécilia sank during the night of Friday, December 14, to Saturday, December 15, near Kokoye Beach, in the third communal section of Petit-Goâve. The boat, returning from the capital, was headed to the port of Miragoâne. About twenty people survived, and one death was reported, it has been learned. Dozens of people are missing.

In an interview with Radio Flamax, Watson Siguineau, who was on board the vessel along with his younger brother, explained that they left port around 9 p.m.
