On Wednesday, the Dominican Republic announced an "immediate execution" plan to expel 10,000 undocumented Haitians per week in an effort to curb illegal immigration from Haiti. "This operation aims to reduce the perceived overpopulation of migrants in Dominican communities and will be conducted under strict protocols to ensure respect for human rights and the dignity of those being repatriated," stated the spokesperson for President Luis Abinader following a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
