Jamaica has announced the beginning of the deployment of its personnel to Haiti as part of the Multinational Security Support Mission. Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the announcement on Tuesday, September 10. According to the Jamaican leader, his country will deploy 24 personnel to Haiti “to provide support in command, planning, and logistics.” The group, comprising 20 members of the Jamaica Defence Force and four police officers, is expected to arrive in Port-au-Prince on Thursday, September 12.
