The municipal authorities of Saint-Marc, led by the General Directorate of the Saint-Marc Water Company (SESAM), mobilized on Monday, May 27, 2024, in Gichan, a locality in the fourth communal section of Saint-Marc. Their goal was to find an effective solution to the water crisis that has plagued the downtown area for the past nine months.

"Since August 18, 2023, water has not flowed from the taps in Saint-Marc homes. This is due to acts of sabotage on the SESAM water network in several localities of the fourth section,"
