On Monday, September 25, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Kenyan Defense Minister Aden Duale signed a defense agreement. The two counterparts signed the document during a meeting in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The agreement will guide the defense relations between the two countries for the next five years, particularly in the context of the East African campaign against the extremist group al-Shabaab, which is linked to al-Qaeda. The signing of the agreement comes as Kenya prepares to lead a multinational security support missio
