Since June 30th, 2023, the country has been plunged into total darkness. This widespread power outage occurred due to a circuit malfunction in one of the power company's substations, which caused a general disruption of the electrical grid.
This incident coincided with a strike by employees of the state-owned electricity production and distribution company, who were demanding five months of unpaid wages.
