Getting a passport requires an appointment and... paying the scammers

Since the government established the online platform DELIDOC for requesting identity documents, there has been a significant decrease in the number of people visiting passport application centers. However, taxpayers who made their request through DELIDOC still need to go to the centers as per government recommendations. While some centers adhere to this measure to facilitate requests, others, like the one in the Sainte-Thérèse Park, do not.

On Tuesday, May 9th at 11:09 am, we encountered a woman at the Center for the Reception and Delivery of Identity Documents (CRLDI) located in Sainte-Thérèse Park. She had an appointment scheduled for 10:00 am. Upon entering the corridor leading to the offices that provide various passport application services, she found a dozen people already waiting in line for permission to enter.
