Tabou Combo, at 55 years old, is reinventing itself

Tabou Combo is a group that needs no introduction. Since 1968, Fanfan Ti Bòt, Kapi, Jean Claude Jean, and Shoubou have led the only Haitian band that has managed to transcend trends, years, and nations, break down barriers, and blend rhythms, all thanks to their unique music. On Sunday, April 30th, at the Casino de Paris, as the band began its 55th year of existence tour, a mixed audience of a certain age, composed of Antilleans, Africans, Haitians, and Europeans, paid tribute to the musicians from Pétion-Ville who have now reached their sixties. Everyone danced and sang along unreservedly with the Tabou phenomenon.

At 6:15 pm, almost all of the bright red chairs in the room are occupied. A cheerful and knowledgeable audience, but above all, fans of Tabou Combo, are present for what promises to be a memorable evening.
