Dr. Marie Nancy Charles Larco: A Lifelong Commitment to Medical Service in Haiti

Dr. Marie Nancy Charles Larco is a doctor, internist, specialist in endocrinology and diabetology, and executive director of the Haitian Foundation for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases (FHADIMAC). With over thirty years of experience in medicine in Haiti, she has made it her duty to provide medical care to her fellow citizens, even during challenging sociopolitical times. For her and many others, medicine has become an act of resistance.

In recent years, many professionals have left the country due to various reasons. Insecurity has made it challenging for many doctors, who have become victims, to continue their work in Haiti. However, Dr. Charles Larco believes that her mission to help others is too important to abandon, which is why she remains committed to her medical career in Haiti.
