Initial Ministerial Council Brings Together Departing Government and PTC

Two weeks after their installation, the members of the Presidential Transition Council finally held their first cabinet meeting with the outgoing government on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Among the decisions adopted were the renewal of the state of emergency and the extension of the mandate of the members of the Court of Auditors.

Presidential advisors, the interim Prime Minister, and members of the outgoing government held their first cabinet meeting at Villa d'Accueil on Wednesday. This inaugural meeting was chaired by Edgard Leblanc Fils, President of the PTC.

"We have renewed the mandate of the members of the Court of Auditors and Administrative Litigation not just for two months, but until their replacement," a member of the outgoing government told Le Nouvelliste. A presidential advisor also confirmed this information to the newspaper.
