Haitians Forging Their Path in Mexico...

Unlike several thousand others who are (or have been) in transit in Mexico, some Haitians have built their lives there, without constantly having "America," the neighboring giant country, in the back of their minds.

They drove for an hour and thirty minutes, covering about sixty kilometers, braving traffic jams, to come support the Haitian U17 women's team staying in Toluca, a city perched at 2,668 meters above sea level southwest of Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. Some are football enthusiasts or former professional footballers in Haiti. It was football that brought them to Mexico. This is the case for Camy Marcelin, former goalkeeper of Arcahaie Football Club. He had come to Mexico in 2021 with his club to compete in the Concacaf Champions Lea
