OIF Meeting: Commitments Made to Aid Haiti's Crisis Resolution

The 4th meeting of the Restricted Consultative Ad Hoc Committee on the Situation in Haiti of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) took place on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in Paris. Initiated by the Secretary-General of the OIF, Louise Mushikiwabo, this meeting brought together representatives of the member states and governments of La Francophonie, including Haiti's Minister of Justice and Security, Emmelie Prophète Milcé.

On the sidelines of this meeting, announcements and commitments were made to assist Haiti. "Announcements and commitments of contributions were made by representatives of the present states and governments, including France, Canada, Quebec, Benin, and others, as well as non-member states invited for the occasion such as Japan, Brazil, and the United States of America, to contribute to securing the Haitian population and promoting a democratic process towards a resolution to the crisis," reads an OIF statement published a few hours
