Nation's Final Tribute to Former President Boniface Alexandre

The funeral of former president Jean Boniface Alexandre was held on Monday, August 14, 2024, at the Supreme Court on Champ de Mars. The funeral ceremony took place in silence and solemnity, attended by family members of the deceased, Prime Minister Ariel Henry, government officials, members of the Supreme Court including President Jean Joseph Lebrun, members of the diplomatic corps, among others.

On Champ de Mars, a robust security presence was established on Rue des Casernes, where the Supreme Court is situated. Multiple units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) were deployed to ensure the area's security and prevent any disruptions during the national funeral of the former president who served from February 2004 to May 2006.
