3 Haitian movies to be featured at the Toronto International Film Festival

For the first time, three films directed by Haitians will be presented at the Toronto International Film Festival. The three movies are:

The Empty Box, Directed by Claudia Sainte-Luce (also stars in the movie and Jimmy Jean-Louis). The touching film depicts the life of a young woman who has to care for her estranged father. It also traces the life of Toussaint, her father, a Haitian who goes to live with his daughter Jazmin in Mexico City, Mexico. Never having been a good father, Toussaint will be an unfortunate prisoner of his past and a common future to build in tearing, regret and hope. Part of the film was shot in Haiti with Haitian actors and technicians. Ayiti Mon Amour.
