Nathalie Jolivert presents Curiosites Urbaines

On February 19th, Haitian painter Nathalie Jolivert opened her art exhibition “Curiosites Urbaines” (Urban Curiosities) at Café 36. Art lovers headed out in droves to La Lorraine to peruse the many paintings adorning the walls of the restaurant.

Many of the paintings presented during the exposition are influenced by the challenges of daily life in Haiti as well as the common yet ironic phrases found on tap-taps. "Urban Curiosities began during my trips on public transport during a recent stay in New York. This allowed me to analyze the reality of Port-au-Prince for possible urban interventions.
