The parade started around 12:30 p.m., with speeches at the Jacmel Convention Center. There, Joan Dithny Raton, Minister of Culture, delivered her speech to officially launch this event, in the presence of Stéphanie Villedrouin, Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries, the deputy of the 50th Legislature, Ketel Jean-Philippe, Elisabeth Beston Delegates, Ambassador of France accredited to Haiti, members of the organizing committee, and civil society.

The 23rd edition of the Jacmel carnival a success
“JAKMEL POU TOUT TAN GEN TAN TAN”. This was the theme of the 23rd edition of the Jacmel carnival which ensued on Sunday, January 31st. Tens of thousands of revelers from Jacmel, throughout the country as well as abroad took part in this huge cultural event.
