A small village opened in Lascahobas

On April 14th, the International Co-operative Alliance (ACI in French), in partnership with Heifer International, opened a village containing 23 earthquake and hurricane-resistant houses in the 1st communal section of Petit Fond (Lascahobas). This village was built with funding from ACI and We Effect in the amount of 350,000 USD. The inaugural ceremony was attended by notables from the town of Lascahobas.

llVillage Men nan men, whose construction began in 2011, cost 350,000 USD. Each house has two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom. This project was the initiative of the Support Group for Returnees and Refugees (GARR in French) of the community and the Kolom cooperative. It was designed to help the victims of the January 2010 earthquake and others who do not have their own shelter.
