An agreement to sustain the Franco-Haitian university cooperation

Haitian and French universities signed an agreement to strengthen the cooperation between the universities on March 23rd at the residence of the Ambassador of France in Haiti in Bourdon. The agreement was signed by Jean Vernet Henry, President of the Conference of Rectors, along with presidents and heads of higher education institutions in Haiti (CORPUHA in French), and Jean-Paul Jourdan, representative of the French Conference of University Presidents (CPU in French), which will extend over a period of 5 years.

The ceremony was attended by Nesmy Manigat, Minister of Education, Rony Smart and Jacques Edouard Alexis, two former prime ministers, and rectors from Haitian and French universities. According to Elisabeth Beton Delègue, Ambassador of France in Haiti, this agreement will structure and perpetuate the already dynamic university cooperation between France and Haiti.
