A quest for Identity

From the 15th of March to the 31st of May, the Haitian-American Institute will host a major art exhibition on the theme "Interpretative Identity" at its premises on the corner of rue Saint-Cyr and Capois. This exhibition will bring together a dozen artists: Malou Cadet, Rachel Castera, Annick Duvivier, Geneviève Lahens, Chantel Jean, Solanges Jolicoeur, Claude Maximilien, Daphney Meyer, Yolande Montas, Valérie Noisette, Edelyne Raymond, and Rachel Scott

llThis exhibition is an attempt to explain and interpret what constitutes the essence of Haitian identity. On the same occasion, Marie Alice Theard, gallery owner and art historian, will speak on art in Haiti. This will be followed by the sale signing of her book “Présence féminine dans l'art haïtien” on Wednesday, April 9th. Malou Cadet, also known as Marie Lucie Mathieu Cadet, is a graduate of the Mayer School of Fashion Design.
