For stricter control of public procurement

On March 2nd, under the patronage of the President and the Prime Minister's office, a five-day training session on public procurement audit was held at the Karibe Hotel. This seminar, an initiative of the National Public Procurement Commission (CNMP in French) is intended to renew the knowledge of participants in of public procurement procedures, according to Yvon Guirand, CNMP Coordinator.

llNot all procurement laws are met in Haiti despite the many documents relating to this area. This training, involving dozens of executives of government and four private firms, is designed with the sole objective of refocusing the debate related to this issue. Watson Denis, representative of the Prime Minister’s office, said that the country must give up certain practices and adopt more ethical guidelines.
