The 5th CARICOM Summit-Cuba opens Havana

The fifth CARICOM Summit-Cuba took place on Monday December 8th in Havana. The economy, trade relations, and regional cooperation were, among others, the topics discussed at the summit that was preceded by a meeting between the CARICOM Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

llCARICOM Summit-Cuba is organized every three years in the Cuban capital, Havana. On December 8th, the leaders of Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobego decided to break diplomatic embargo and visited the Republic of Cuba, who remained the host for the summit. "This fifth summit demonstrates the solidarity and fraternal relations existing between the Caribbean peoples," said the Secretary General of CARICOM at the opening of the summit on Monday morning.
