Customs area at the International Airport will soon be reconstructed

Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by some senior public administration executives in the presence of Mamadou Lamarane Deme, Head of Institutional Support for the World Bank, commenced the construction of the new customs building at Toussaint Louverture International Airport on Friday, November 21, 2014.

Since its destruction during the earthquake of January 12, 2010, customs at the airport has waited more than four years for a new building. Travelers so far have been served in a temporary location. If all goes as planned, in one year, the employees of this addition to the General Customs Administration will be able to inaugurate their new building. Funded by the World Bank to the tune of about 2.5 million USD, the construction of this new building, according to the Head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, is a new image for public administ
