Illegitimate children will no longer be an object of shame for women, according to the Ministry at the introduction of this two-day workshop held at the Karibe Convention Center. This new law is impacting parents, especially men who refuse to take responsibility. This Act repeals all laws or ordinances which are contrary to it, such as the DNA test.

Partial victory for children in single parent families
There is no longer any question of legitimate and illegitimate children in the country. The new law on paternity, maternity and parentage promulgated and published in Le Moniteur on June 4th ended this problem. In order to disseminate this issue, a two-day workshop was held at Karibe Hotel September 8th - 9th. This was the initiative of the Ministry of Women and Women's Rights (MCFDF in French) and "pou Aksyon Kolektif Sekirite kont Eksplwatasyon” (HPP AKSE).
