Renovation and expansion of the sisters school in Port-Salut

On Wednesday April 9th, the Digicel Foundation, together with the Institution of Sports Reunion in Haiti (RSH in French), opened of a brand new building to house the Congregational National School of Saint-Dominique, administered by the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception in Port-Salut. The construction of the school cost 273,000 USD, the new building will allow more than 600 students to receive their education in optimum conditions.

The recently renovated building located on the premises of the Congregational Saint-Dominique School, was rebuilt on an area of 300 square meters. The national school has a new modern building with 12 spacious classrooms and was furnished with benches, desks, chairs, and tables. The school’s reconstruction began shortly before the earthquake of January12th, and then slowed down due to the lack of funds, despite the administration’s efforts.
