Japan supports the National Identification Office

On Friday April 11th, the Japanese Embassy in Haiti, in partnership with the Office of the Organization of American States, signed a grant donation of 120,000 USD for the benefit of the National Identification Office (ONI in French). This contribution aims to improve civil registration service provided by ONI to facilitate the process leading to the elections scheduled for the end of the year.

Following recent commitments by the Japanese Government for the implementation of the "Modernization and integration of civil registration in Haiti,” project, Katsuyoshi Tamura, Japanese Ambassador in Haiti, and Frederic Bolduc, Special Representative OAS in Haiti, signed the 120.000 USD donation to strengthen ONI.
