The deputies voted unanimously on the amendment of the electoral law

On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, the Chamber of Deputies amended the electoral law as required by the El Rancho agreement. The deputies amended certain articles within the 10 calendar day requirement. The ball is now in the hands of senators.

Several changes were made to the electoral law by the deputies who organized the first 2014 legislative meeting since the beginning of the first session. Interim officials can now run in the next municipal elections if they resign from their position within 15 days from the date of electoral law publication. This is one of the most important changes made by the parliament to the electoral law.
